I’ve been developing a texture painting program, and it’s been hard to keep going.

Tech has become a tool to manipulate people. A tool to extract every last penny in our wallets, every last ounce of attention we have. Leaving us both without the will or the means to push back. Tech giants have spent insane amounts of money perfectly crafting a product to silence our minds, and make us passive. I hate what it’s become, and I do not want to be part of this.

My project is different though, there is no feed, there is no consumption. If someone is using my texture painter, they are creating. Bringing something new into the world that only they could make. By continuing to work on this project I can add a pebble of the tech I used to love, back into the pile. Contribute to people creating, and developing skills, for the sake of creating, and bring a bit of humanity back. It might be just one small project in the world, but I hope a positive one.

So despite my conflicted feeling on a project that can only be used through a computer. I have to keep going, to make the time that would probably be spent anyways, just a touch better.
